The first full trailer for another “Yellowstone” prequel has been released by Paramount+.

In the style of the Taylor Sheridan shows that have come before it, the “1923” trailer promises plenty of romance, violence and drama. Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren bring decades of combined acting experience to their roles, and the preview shows that the pair are holding nothing back for the new series.
“Men kill quick with a bullet or a noose, but the fight is with me. And I kill much slower,” Mirren’s character threatens in the trailer.
Harrison Ford’s character is equally as fierce as he declares, “Tell the world what happens when they cross me,” and “If you attack my family it will be the last thing you ever do.”
Set in Montana, “1923” takes place more than 30 years prior to the birth of John Dutton (portrayed by Kevin Costner) in the original Yellowstone series, and four decades after “1883,” the “Yellowstone” prequel that starred Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as patriarch and matriarch of an earlier generation of Duttons.
The official show description for “1923” says, “‘1923’ focuses on the Dutton family’s next two generations as they struggle to survive historic drought, lawlessness and Prohibition, and an epidemic of cattle theft; all battled beneath the cloud of Montana’s great depression, which preceded the nation by almost a decade.”
The new series sees the Duttons settled on their Montana ranch, but they face a “range war” as land developers, cowboys and hunters want to lay claim to some of their property.
According to Paramount+, “1923” will be made up of two 8-episode seasons and will premiere on December 18.
