Joining Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam on stage, the superstar was honored with recognition of his massive achievements, but he also had something else to share…
Being one of the only artists in music history to see seven of his albums get certified as Diamond (selling more than 10 million copies), Garth Brooks was honored during a live broadcast with the Governor today as a joint venture between the star and Tennessee Tourism’s new initiative: “The Soundtrack of America”.
“Garth Brooks can live and make music anywhere he wants, and the fact that he chooses to do that in Tennessee says so much about our state,” Haslam said. “We’re so proud to claim him — and Trisha — and excited that they represent our state so well and inspire people to visit Tennessee and experience, as we say, the soundtrack of America.”
While being one of the most iconic residents and supporters of the state, Garth and Governor Haslam shocked many when they announced that he would be playing another concert soon!
But fans were even more surprised to find out that it would be FREE!!
Garth’s free concert will be held on October 24th, 2016 at the Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville, but you can’t just go out an pick up a ticket at the box office!
