During a surprising announcement, the longtime country favorite reveals that for the first time in history, he will be performing a concert at the historic Ryman Auditorium.

The Ryman Auditorium has been a huge part of country music for more than 70 years, ever since it hosted its very first Grand Ole Opry show in 1943. In the years that have passed, the Ryman has changed hands several times and was once even set for demolition!

Luckily, the iconic landmark and hallowed stage that has held the Opry for many years persevered and is able to welcome one of the most beloved country singers in a first-ever concert!

Announced on Wednesday (July 27), Garth Brooks made headlines when he revealed he would be performing a concert at the famed stage for the first time in his career! Additionally, Brooks is teaming up with SiriusXM radio to launch his very own station during the event!

“Just the thought of playing the Ryman is crazy. The fact that SiriusXM is going to capture the evening makes it even a bigger event for me,” Brooks gushed in a press release.

The event will be a private concert held on September 8th and air live on the new SiriusXM channel during its debut. You can catch the concert online via SirusXM.com on ‘The Garth Channel’.

Along with the promotion of his new radio channel filled with nonstop hits selected by Brooks himself, SiriusXM is giving current subscribers a chance to win tickets to see the concert in person! You can enter online beginning on July 28th!
