Jelly Roll & Lainey Wilson Recently United For A Duet At The ACM Awards...And No One Knew It Was Happening
Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson are two of the biggest names in country music at the moment. Jelly Roll won three awards at the CMT Music Awards in April, and Lainey won four trophies at the ACM Awards on May 11.
Both singers performed during the ACM Awards…and they actually performed together! But their duet was not announced in advance, so viewers were surprised when Lainey joined Jelly Roll on stage.
The pair sang Jelly Roll’s “Save Me.” After the song ended, Lainey delivered a solo performance of her own song, “Grease.”
Following their performance, Jelly Roll revealed that he and Lainey recorded “Save Me.” Their duet version of the song is now available. It will be featured as a track on Jelly Roll’s upcoming album, WHITSITT CHAPEL.
Lainey Wilson & Jelly Roll Perform During Season 21 Finale Of American Idol
Three days after the ACM Awards, American Idol unveiled its lineup of guest performers for the Season 21 finale. Jelly Roll and Lainey were among the artists named. Other guests included Keith Urban, Lauren Daigle, TLC, and Pitbull.
Much like their ACM Awards show performance, Lainey Wilson and Jelly Roll took the American Idol stage to sing “Save Me.” Then Wilson exited the stage to leave Jelly Roll to sing “Need A Favor” joined by Idol Top 10 contestant Oliver Steele.
