The “Our Country” event aired April 5, 2020, in place of the 55th ACM Awards show that had to be rescheduled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The specially televised two-hour event offered fans a unique way to enjoy their favorite country stars’ performances. Each country artist performed in the comfort of their own homes and virtually televised their performances in an acoustic setting, as well as having intimate conversations and sharing clips of some of their favorite ACM Award moments.

Some of the country artists who performed included Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Kane Brown and John Legend, Luke Bryan, Brandi Carlile, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Sheryl Crow, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Old Dominion, Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker, Thomas Rhett, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani, Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban.
Urban opened the video with thanking all of the healthcare workers who are on the frontline saying, “Me, Nic, our girls, we all say thank you so much, to all the first responders out there, everybody in the healthcare field all over.”
Urban goes on and takes a deep breath and exhales saying, “This is a very, very strange time, and… the one thing I believe is that music is an incredible healing mechanism and an incredible way of us to come together and connect, especially at times like this.”
Urban then reminds everyone that he was scheduled to be hosting the ACM Awards for the first time in Vegas tonight, however, plans changed due to the coronavirus pandemic and he will be hosting them at the new scheduled date September 16. “I cannot wait to be apart of that.”
Urban explains that he was trying to figure out what song to sing tonight and he felt as though his song “Wasted Time” was appropriate and that the song has taken on “new meaning” with all that is going on.
