PepsiCo is in the process of launching the unique limited edition chips and they’re expected to hit the shelves for people to buy on April 6th. However, it will only be available in Australia and not in the United States (yet). Do you think it will taste good? Well, one guy who has tried them gave his feedback on how he thought they tasted.

Nick Vavitis, a social media figure known for doing food reviews and eating wild and crazy snacks dropped a post on Instagram, Monday, March 30th, 2020. In his post, he told his followers he tried the new Doritos Mountain Dew Energized chips and in his opinion they tasted like “citrus lime detergent and I would never buy these again.”

He actually gave the chips a rating of 0 out of 10. However, he mentioned before trying the chips that he didn’t have high hopes for them so maybe he psyched himself out before tasting them. They might be as bad as he suggested, then again, maybe others will love them.

Doritos brand manager, Eric Burke, insisted that fans will love the chips saying, “To create this unique flavour, we partnered with our beverages and research and development teams to ensure we got the flavour just right – and we think our consumers are going to love the result,” the Daily Mail reported.

It appears people have mixed feelings about it. Comments on the post show that some believe it’s a dream come true while others think it’s completely crazy to mix the two. On April 1st, there were even some who were suspecting that this was just an April Fools joke. Nevertheless, this is not a joke.

On April 6th they will be available in all 7-Eleven stores nationwide in Australia. Two weeks later they are expected to be ready for purchase at Costco supermarkets and by mid-July, you’ll be able to find them in the other grocery stores and gas stations.
