Kelly Clarkson is once again putting her spin on a classic song by the queen of country, Reba McEntire.
In the most recent segment of “Kellyoke” on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson performed Reba McEntire’s 1990 hit “You Lie.”
Clarkson has made it a point to honor McEntire by covering several of her songs over the years. For example, in 2018, she sang “Fancy” to pay tribute to McEntire at the Kennedy Center Honors.
She has also performed McEntire’s songs on her “Kellyoke” segment before.
Earlier this year, Clarkson sang a powerful rendition of McEntire’s 1994 hit “Till You Love Me.” McEntire responded on social media, sharing her love and appreciation for Clarkson’s cover of her song.
“Thanks KC for covering my song #TillYouLoveMe on your show today,” McEntire wrote. “Did y’all catch her beautiful rendition? Stream the original version here.”

Clarkson and McEntire’s relationship dates back to 2002 when Clarkson was just beginning her professional music career on American Idol. The two performed McEntire’s song “Does He Love You” during the Season 1 finale, shortly before Clarkson was named the show’s first-ever winner.
Not only that but the two were technically family at one point. Clarkson was previously married to Brandon Blackstock, the son of McEntire’s ex-husband, Narvel Blackstock.
