Kid Rock is no stranger to philanthropy, donating not only large sums of money but his precious time to both support and bring awareness to various causes dear to his heart. The rockstar recently took to his Instagram to spread holiday cheer and jumpstart the giving mood by sharing a photo of him doing the noble act himself!
Rock was seen wearing a classic Santa hat as he stood behind a food station. Gloves and all, the singer took his act of kindness hands on by serving meals to military men and women while they are away from their loved ones during the holiday season. Rock has a smile forming on his face as he proceeds to serve a military member as others occupy the hall.
The icon supports a wide variety of charities including Habitat For Humanity, Operation Homefront, and Stand Up To Cancer. Rock has always been outspoken about his support for American troops, often partaking in affiliate charities and benefits. The singer has yet to be shy about visiting various overseas locations, as well, as he has endured multiple trips to visit troops and provide an allowed time of entertainment. These continuous efforts have not only earned his the highest respects of men and women who appreciate his work with the military, but it has also earned him the Operation Troop Aid Patriot Award, some of the previous recipients being Charlie Daniels and Mark Wills.
While Rock participates in a wide variety of charities, he has also founded The Kid Rock Foundation in 2008, a wonderful effort in which volunteers of both staff and utilities donate their time to raise money for various charities that are affiliated with the foundation. Specializing in noble organizations pertaining to disadvantaged children, illnesses, and natural disasters, Rock’s efforts reach far and wide to those who desperately need assistance and stability. Rock’s apparel line “Made In Detroit” is also affiliated with foundation, as the proceeds from specific sales are given to The Kid Rock Foundation and are then distributed where they are needed.
Rock’s charitable efforts and contributions speak volumes of the singer’s kind heart and humble acceptance of the iconic status he’s acquired throughout his career. In light of the holiday season, KidRock.com has provided a simple way to donate a care package to a soldier who is unfortunately missing out on the joy of this time of the year. The website explains how a donation of $25 “sends one package overseas. You can donate as much or as little as you want,” in addition to sending a personal message dedicated to the receiving soldier.
