His character was highly respected in the series, and Elliott even received a SAG Award for his performance, specifically the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie..

Rumors About Sam Elliott Joining The Cast Have Been Circulating
In an interview with Deadline, Billy Bob Thornton seemingly confirmed the rumors. Billy Bob Thornton plays Tommy Norris, the lead in Landman, and when discussing the upcoming season 2, he discussed how long he has worked with his co-stars Demi Moore and Andy Garcia.
He said, “I go way back with both of them, and it’s pretty cool.”
He then said, “Sam Elliott, I go back to the ’80s with. Yes, I’m old.”
This seemingly confirmed the rumors and left fans excited about the two stars working together on screen. Landman officially confirmed the rumors on Instagram.

What We Know About Landman Season 2
It is no surprise that Landman is getting a season 2, as it was one of Paramount+’s most popular original series.
Although the creators have not announced an official release date for season 2. They have confirmed that production has begun, with an anticipated release in late 2025 or early 2026.
Following the on-screen death of Monty Miller, Jon Hamm’s character, fans expect Cami Miller (Demi Moore) to take on a more central role in the upcoming season.
Speculation suggests that she might “take over” the oil company. This puts Tommy in a difficult position as he must now wear multiple hats. He must help Cami run the company and be a “Landman.”
Additionally, Andy Garcia will appear in a minor role as a dangerous drug cartel boss, which raises the stakes for Tommy Norris even further.
