Production Has Started On The Second Season Of Taylor Sheridan’s Landman

Landman‘s second season is officially in the works, and the show’s star, Billy Bob Thornton, seemingly confirmed that Sam Elliott is now part of the cast.

Paramount announced in March that Taylor Sheridan‘s Landman had been renewed for a second season. A few weeks later, the show shared the news that they officially started production on their second season.

Then, last week, Demi Moore (who plays Cami Miller) shared she was on set in Fort Worth. Roads in the city’s downtown area were shut down for filming.

It has yet to be confirmed when Season 2 of Landman will premiere. But, if it follows the schedule for Season 1, the new season may kick off sometime in November.

Billy Bob Thornton Appears To Confirm The News That Sam Elliott Will Star In Season 2 Of Landman

Shortly after it was announced that Landman was getting a second season, some exciting casting news surfaced. An unverified report claimed that Oscar-nominated actor Sam Elliott was joining the cast in a new role.

Fans immediately latched on to this rumor. After all, Elliott previously starred in Taylor Sheridan’s 1883, and Sheridan has a history of working with the same actors on various projects. So it didn’t seem too far-fetched that Elliott would appear in Landman.

Since then, Landman‘s lead actor, Billy Bob Thornton, has seemingly confirmed Elliott’s involvement with Season 2.

When chatting with Deadline about the production of the show’s second season, Thornton spoke about his relationship with co-stars Demi Moore and Andy Garcia. He said, “I go way back with both of them, and it’s pretty cool.”

Then, Thornton added, “Sam Elliott, I go back to the ’80s with. Yes, I’m old.”

Notably, Thornton guest starred in an episode of 1883. So he and Elliott have already worked on one Taylor Sheridan series together!

Elliott, Paramount, and Sheridan have yet to confirm that Elliott has been cast in Landman‘s second season. Hopefully, an official announcement about his casting will be made soon.
