Recapping Season 27 Of The Voice As It Prepares To Change Its Schedule
Fans of The Voice, take note—the show just announced a major change to its current schedule.
Season 27 of The Voice premiered on February 3. The show welcomed returning coaches Michael Bublé, Adam Levine, and John Legend. Country singer Kelsea Ballerini is the newcomer this season, as she fills the chair left vacant by Season 25 champion Reba McEntire.
When Season 27 debuted in February, The Voice announced a change to the schedule fans had grown accustomed to. The show shared that it would only air new episodes once a week, on Monday nights, throughout the first few rounds of the competition.
This differs from how The Voice used to do things, as it used to air new episodes on Mondays and Tuesdays each week.
After changing the schedule for Season 27, The Voice proceeded with the pre-taped blind auditions, battles, and knockouts. The last knockout performance aired on Monday (April 14).

The Voice Shares Plans To Change Its Schedule Moving Forward
On Monday (April 14), The Voice announced an “important” mid-season schedule change. The show will revert to its old model of airing episodes on Mondays AND Tuesdays.
As an article on the NBC website explains:
“As The Voice Season 27 heads into the Playoffs and Live Shows, the show is giving fans even more ways to watch, adding recap episodes to the weekly lineup in addition to regular episodes.”
NBC shared more details about the schedule change and what Voice fans can expect to see on the Tuesday night episodes:
“Starting April 14, The Voice will air its usual two-hour episodes on Mondays, plus one-hour recap episodes the next night for anyone who needs to catch up. This means a Knockouts recap on April 15 from 8 to 9 p.m. ET, and Playoffs recaps on April 29 and May 6, also airing at 8 p.m. ET.”
As you may have noticed, The Voice is not airing a new competition episode the week of April 21. Rather, on April 21, the show will share “The Road to the Playoffs,” which will recap the season’s best moments so far. The playoffs will start on Monday, April 28, with the above-mentioned recap episode airing the following night.
Live results shows will start airing on Tuesdays in May. The Voice also shared the following details about its semi-finals and finale:
“The Semi-Finals will air live from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET on May 12, with a recap of those performances at 8 p.m. the next day, Tuesday, May 13. Even more exciting is what happens with the Finale performances the next week: The Artists will perform on May 19, and a live recap happens at 8 p.m. ET on May 20, followed by the all-live results and crowning of the next winner of The Voice.”
