It comes as no surprise that Luke Combs knows how to get the party started, but he just took it to a whole new level at the 2019 CMT Music Awards.

Combs released his latest single, “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” on May 8, but he’s been playing it at live shows for over a year. He recently shared a video of that performance on Facebook.

“When I played ‘Beer Never Broke My Heart’ for the first time on Jan. 19, 2018 in Madison, WI, I had no idea what was about to happen… Y’all shared it with your friends, learned the words and sang it back to me at shows. It’s what it is today because of you all,” he wrote.

Since that day, the song has taken off and more and more fans have been becoming familiar with the song, even before he ever released an official version. He even named his tour after it!

This week, Combs proved that he’s ready to party at the CMT Music Awards when he posted a video of himself shotgunning a beer on stage in less than four seconds!

He brought that same energy to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday night (June 5).

Wearing his signature fishing shirt, Combs belted the rowdy anthem. Fans standing in the front few rows were cheering him on with beer bottle in their hands. When the camera cut to his country music peers, they were all on their feet singing and dancing! It was the perfect song to close out the show!
