Clydesdale Foal Steals The Show In Budweiser’s Super Bowl Commercial
The Philadelphia Eagles may have won Super Bowl LIX, but an adorable Clydesdale foal “won” for starring in one of the best commercials of the night.
The famous Clydesdale horses have been part of Budweiser’s Super Bowl commercials for decades. This year (2025), a foal took center stage as the star of their ad for the first time since 2013.
Budweiser actually released this year’s commercial early. So fans got the chance to meet the cute Clydesdale star before “The Big Game.”
Titled “First Delivery,” the ad shows the foal wanting to join the older Clydesdales on their beer delivery. But since he is still too young and small to join the team, he gets left behind.
As the beer wagon travels along, it hits a bump, causing a keg to fall off. The foal jumps into action and pushes the keg with his nose while following the wagon

The foal follows the wagon all the way to their destination, a bar that was awaiting their beer delivery. As the Budweiser employee goes to the back of the wagon, he notices a keg is missing. Later, when he turns around, he sees the foal pushing the missing keg into the bar and smiles at the sight.
Fans loved the commercial and its determined Clydesdale star. As of press time, the ad has over 1.6 million views on YouTube alone.
Meet The Young Horse Who Won America’s Hearts On Super Bowl Sunday
The Clydesdale foal in Budweiser’s Super Bowl commercial wasn’t animated—he’s a real-life foal who was born last year (2024) at Warm Springs Ranch in Missouri. Warm Springs Ranch is the largest official breeding facility for the Budweiser Clydesdales.
The sweet foal’s name is Jake. After his birth, he went to Grant’s Farm in St. Louis for training.
Jake must fit certain characteristics if he wants to grow up and become one of the iconic Clydesdales. He must stand at least 18 hands high, be at least 4 years old, and have a particular coat color and markings.
Amy Trout, the manager of Warm Springs Ranch, spoke with Columbia Missourian about Jake. She said choosing which Clydesdales are suitable for commercials is not a perfect art. Certain horses may be better suited for television appearances than promotional events.
The Budweiser team knew they wanted a foal with the iconic Clydesdale look to star in their Super Bowl commercial for 2025. Jake was the perfect candidate!
But Trout admitted there were hurdles to training such a young horse to star in a commercial.
“There are lots of challenges with training a baby, but they’re curious enough, and they’re willing to learn and try, ” she said.
Jake is clearly a fast learner, because he did an excellent job in this year’s Super Bowl commercial! Watch him in his staring moment below.
