Budweiser And Super Bowl Commercials Go Hand In Hand

People get together for a few reasons to watch the Super Bowl. First and foremost, to watch the two best teams in the NFL battle it out for the championship. Second, for the snacks, and third, for the epic commercials.

Every year, companies try to outdo themselves and the competition by producing the funniest, most clever advertising that costs them top dollar. For 2024’s Super Bowl, 30-second ads cost $7 million, with some going for over $8 million.

With 127 million+ people watching, that is money well spent.

Sometimes, newer brands come in and make a splash, like Temu in 2024, but there are always the tried-and-true brands known for their incredible commercials, including Doritos and Budweiser.

According to KVUE, Mark Evans, the executive vice president of ad sales for Fox Sports, said that ad space sold out in November. And they have a long waitlist in case any companies decide to drop out.

Since 1988, Budweiser has aired a Super Bowl commercial that is more iconic than the last. This tradition continued until 2021, the first year in nearly four decades that the iconic beer company wasn’t spotlighted during the Super Bowl.

Instead, the company used its commercial budget to donate to coronavirus vaccination awareness efforts.

The company returned to regularly scheduled commercials in 2022 and beyond. Now, they are back for Super Bowl LIX in 2025, and a foal is taking center stage in the ad for the first time in a decade.

Budweiser’s Super Bowl LIX Ad

The commercial, titled “First Delivery,” shows a foal wanting to join a beer delivery with his fellow Clydesdales. Being much too small for the large task, the foal is left behind.

The wagon carrying several kegs of Budweiser takes on a bump and a keg falls off. The foal is determined to help, so he pushes the keg with his snout, following the wagon the other Clydesdales are pulling.

The foal pushes the keg through mountains, railroad tracks, and even a river before making it to the bar where the crew was making a beer delivery.

At said bar, there’s a man telling a joke to his friends saying, “So, a horse walks into a bar,” but then he gets sidetracked by seeing an actual horse walk into the bar.

The employee goes to the back of the wagon and notices a keg missing. As he turned around in confusion, he sees the foal pushing the keg and gets a little smirk.

Guess this foal was ready for his first delivery! Watch the commercial below.
