Miranda Lambert and Anderson East have been together for a little over a year now, and they’re proving that their love is stronger than ever. All you have to do is watch their recent duet to see just how crazy they are about each other.
Lambert is currently traveling across the country on her Keeper of the Flame tour. The tour took her all the way to Bossier City, Louisiana on Sunday (March 12), with Aubrie Sellers and Brandy Clark as opening acts. But fans were not aware that Lambert had another musical guest waiting in the wings.
That guest was East, who joined Lambert on stage for one rockin’ duet. Instead of singing one of Lambert’s songs, the couple decided to try their hands at a rock classic that we’re sure you know well…”Stay with Me,” by Faces.
Written by Faces members Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood, “Stay with Me” was released off of the band’s 1971 album A Nod Is As Good As a Wink…to a Blind Horse. The tune caught on quickly following its release, and peaked at the 17th spot on the Billboard Hot 100. It was an even bigger hit in Canada, where it managed to claim the fourth spot on the chart.
“Stay with Me” was originally told from a man’s perspective, as he asks a woman if she’d like to come home with him that night. The song’s naturally flirty vibe is what ended up making it the perfect fit for a duet between Lambert and East.
The crowd started cheering as East danced his way on stage. Lambert couldn’t help herself by the time he reached her side, and leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. The two then engaged in a little dance together before Lambert moved forward and started singing first.
East couldn’t keep his eyes off of Lambert as she sang, looking at her with pure adoration. The crowd went wild when he finally started singing, and Lambert seemed to be having a blast as she danced along to the music.
The couple kept up their flirtations throughout the whole performance, particularly once they joined together on the chorus. They moved closer to one another before they eventually broke out into another adorable dance. But the sweetest moment came at the end of the song, when Lambert recognized East to the crowd and then gave him a kiss before he rushed off stage.
This duet shows just how much fun Lambert and East have when they’re together! Tune in below to check it out.
We hope these two will pair up for more duets in the future, because this one was priceless!
