Miranda Lambert & Elle King Open 2021 ACM Awards With New Duet, “Drunk”

Miranda Lambert and Elle King were the two singers tasked with opening the 2021 ACM Awards. It was up to them to set the tone of the night, and they rose to the occasion!

The duo performed their new, hit duet, “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home),” which was released at the end of February.

In the song’s music video, King plays a bride who doesn’t have the approval of her groom’s uptight family. Lambert portrays King’s maid of honor who spikes the punch at the reception to help everyone loosen up.

The video was just released on February 26 and already has over three million views. As for the song itself, it has climbed as high as the 21st spot on the Hot Country Songs chart.

Since “Drunk” is a single of King’s, it is also considered a rock song. Because of this, it has reached the eighth spot Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart as well.

Such a fun and feisty track was the perfect song to use to kick off the ACM Awards on Sunday night (April 18).

Lambert and King delivered their performance from the Grand Ole Opry house in Nashville. The duo wore matching leather jackets with long, colorful fringe. The perfect attire for such a fun-loving song!

The two sang in front of a small live audience comprised of workers from Vanderbilt Health. They all cheered like crazy once King and Lambert finished their performance. It was the perfect way to start the night!

Lambert and King know how to have a good time…and how to put on a good performance!
