Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert have a lot in common. They’re both leading ladies in country music, with countless awards to their name. They both have a string of number one hits, including their 2014 duet “Somethin’ Bad.” Oh, and they both love animals.
Underwood is well-known for her charitable efforts, including her work with animals. She established her own foundation in 2009, called the Checotah Animal, Town, and School Foundation, which helps the people and animals in her hometown of Checotah, Oklahoma. Two years later, Underwood took a major step to help the animals in her hometown community when she opened the Happy Paws Animal Shelter in the city.
But Underwood isn’t the only country star to open an animal shelter. After establishing her organization MuttNation Foundation in 2009, Lambert opened a shelter in Tishomingo, Oklahoma called Redemption Ranch. In addition to operating the shelter, MuttNation raises funds to provide aid to animals across the country. A large portion of those funds come from Lambert’s annual “Cause for the Paws” concert, which has raised over $1.5 million in the past.
Through MuttNation, Lambert teamed up with Petmate to produce her own line of pet products. The line features everything from toys, to bedding, to a set of six plush dogs designed to look like real-life rescue dogs. According to a press release, the funds raised from each purchase will go toward MuttNation’s rescue and adoption programs.
Lambert’s six dogs helped her model her new product line, including her golden retriever Waylon, who’s pictured above. Underwood has two dogs of her own, named Penny and Ace. Now thanks to Lambert, Penny and Ace have a batch of new MuttNation toys to play with!
Underwood shared a photo on Instagram of the most adorable care package we’ve ever seen, which Lambert packed full of love. The box was filled with toys, bandanas, and other goodies sure to make Penny and Ace two happy pups.
Their mama is pretty happy as well, and made sure to thank Lambert for her kindness. “Thanks so much, girl!!! ❤️ ya!” Underwood wrote as a “thank you” to Lambert.
