The R&B song “Killing Me Softly with His Song” was first released in 1971 by Lori Lieberman. It has been covered countless times by artists including Frank Sinatra, Dottie West, Lynn Anderson, Roberta Flack, the Fugees, and many, many more, and you can now add Little Big Town and Lambert to the list.

Someone at their Mansfield, Massachusetts show captured their cover on camera and thank goodness they did. Little Big Town is known for their spine-tingling harmonies, but when they added Lambert to the mix, the song was elevated to another level of greatness.

They kicked off the a cappella part of the R&B song in five-part harmonies, which is no easy feat. From the audience’s reaction, they were loving every second of it, and so were we!

The award-winning band and the “We Should Be Friends” singer transitioned seamlessly into Dixie Chicks’ hit “Goodbye Earl.” Watch their insane harmonies during “Killing Me Softly” below.
