Following the soaring success of her #1 single, “Bluebird,” Miranda Lambert announced her next single off of her album Wildcard would be “Settling Down.”
Lambert co-wrote the song with Luke Dick and Natalie Hemby. In it, she sings about how she has a desire to always be on the move and explore the world. But on the other hand, she can see herself being a homebody who stays put in one place with the person she loves.
As the lyrics go, “Am I looking for comfort? Am I looking for an escape? Am I looking for you? Am I looking the other way?“
In the past, Lambert explained how many of the songs on Wildcard were inspired by her new life with her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, who she married in 2019.
When fans first heard “Settling Down,” they couldn’t help but wonder if he served as the inspiration behind the track.
Lambert may have confirmed these guesses, as she recently announced that McLoughlin will star in her official music video for “Settling Down.”
The full video will drop on October 21, but Lambert wanted to share a sneak peek on Instagram. The short clip shows her riding through a field on one of her Gypsy Vanner horses. It cuts to McLoughlin who looks off longingly in the distance while wearing a black suit jacket over a white collared shirt.
Lambert shared a link to a longer preview of the music video in the caption of her post.
After watching these previews, we’re so anxious to see what the full video for “Settling Down” will be like. From the looks of it, it will be super romantic!
