Taylor Sheridan has the power to attract superstar actors to his projects. Kevin Costner stars in Yellowstone, Sam Elliott appeared in 1883, Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren play lead roles in 1923, Sylvester Stallone is the star of Tulsa King, and Jeremy Renner stars in Mayor of Kingstown.

Now, another megastar has landed a role in a new series of Sheridan’s, titled Lioness.

Variety reports that Nicole Kidman has been cast in Lioness as the character Kaitlyn Meade. According to Variety, Kaitlyn is:

the CIA’s Senior Supervisor who has had a long career of playing the politics game. She must juggle the trappings of being a woman in the high-ranking intelligence community, a wife that longs for the attention she herself can’t even give and a mentor to someone veering suspiciously close to the same rocky road she’s found herself on.”

Other members of the cast include Laysla De Oliveira, Zoe Saldaña, Jill Wagner, Dave Annable, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Hannah Love Lanier, Stephanie Nur, and Jonah Wharton.

It was previously announced that Kidman is serving as an executive producer on Lioness. So now she’s working on the series both behind and in front of the camera.

A premiere date for Lioness has not been announced at this time.

A few months ago, Sheridan spoke briefly about Lioness in a video about some of his new shows. You can watch that video below. The Lioness segment starts around the 1:55 mark.

The latest news about Lioness comes not long after Sheridan debuted his newest Yellowstone prequel series, 1923.

The series, starring Ford and Mirren, follows a different generation of Duttons as they struggle to hold on to their ranch in the midst of one of the most trying times in history. Learn a little more about 1923 by tuning in to the below video.
