In 2012, a new cowboy hat-wearing country singer made his debut with a single that took the charts by storm. That single, titled “Cowboys and Angels,” became a Top 10 country hit, has since been certified platinum, and instantly made Dustin Lynch a household name among country fans.

Since then, Lynch has released a number of other hit songs, including “Small Town Boy,” “Mind Reader,” and “Where It’s At.”

His commercial success and his devotion country music led to Lynch receiving one of the greatest honors a country star could ever get. In 2018, Trace Adkins invited Lynch to join the Grand Ole Opry, and he gratefully accepted.

Lynch was inducted into the Opry in September 2018, and Reba McEntire was on hand to do the honors.

Lynch has remained a fixture of the Opry ever since, and often stops by to perform for the crowds who gather there.

During a recent performance on country music’s most iconic stage, Lynch wanted to take the time to thank some special guests. Two of his hometown friends and their girls were watching backstage, and Lynch revealed that he owes them a lot.

Believe it or not, they are the reason that I am on this stage, and the reason I ever started singing on stage in my life when I was fifteen,” Lynch said.

To help repay his buddies for all they had done, Lynch invited them and their girls to come out on stage for a selfie in the middle of the famed Opry circle.

But little did Lynch’s friend Courtney know that her boyfriend, Matt, had a surprise waiting for her after the group finished taking their pictures.

Quickly, Lynch handed his microphone over to Matt, and that’s when he turned to Courtney and got down on one knee. That’s when he proposed to Courtney right in the middle of the Opry circle! And of course she said “yes!”

What a memorable moment…and it is something they’ll be able to relive, because the Opry caught the whole thing on film. You can watch the surprise proposal take place in the video below.

Hats off to Lynch for helping his friend pull off one unforgettable proposal!
