Two Iconic Bands From The 2000s Have Collaborated On A Country Music Single
The Jonas Brothers and Rascal Flatts announced on Instagram that they have released a new song.
Both bands dominated the charts in the 2000s, with the Jonas Brothers formed in 2005 and Rascal Flatts formed in 1999.
The Jonas Brothers are three siblings who were born and raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey. The band includes Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Nick Jonas.
They became famous among younger audiences through their appearances on the Disney Channel and their family-friendly sound. The brothers announced their breakup in 2013 but reunited five years later in 2019, releasing a hit single titled “Sucker.”

Rascal Flatts had a longer run and officially disbanded in 2021. The band includes Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus, and Joe Don Rooney.
Fans were disappointed when they announced their farewell tour for 2020, which was ultimately canceled due to the pandemic.
Fortunately, in 2024, the band announced that they would reunite for a 25th-anniversary tour, called the Life is a Highway tour, which will kick off in February and wrap up in April of 2025.
Rascal Flatts And The Jonas Brothers Collaborated On A New Single Titled “I Dare You”
Nick Jonas, Shay Mooney (half of the duo Dan + Shay), Dwayne Whitmore, and Tommy English wrote “I Dare You,” which is what initially piqued Rascall Flatts’ interest in the single.
DeMarcus said, “I think the fact that it was the Jonas Brothers really piqued our interest. We’ve got great respect for those guys and what they’ve been able to do in their careers. It was yet another opportunity to collaborate with somebody we respect in the music industry, and it was such a blast doing it.”
The chorus of the song says:
“I dare you to love somebody like me
Yeah, I dare you
I dare you to let me be your everything
Oh, I dare you (I dare you)
I dare you to run and baby, don’t look back
I know it scares you ’cause no one prepared you
But baby, I dare you
Baby, I dare you”
The release is well-timed, with Valentine’s Day around the corner, as the song is about a man daring a woman to love him.
The lead singer of Rascal Flatts, Gary LeVox, spoke about the message of the song, “The message is great. You girls out there protecting your heart — don’t just keep it all for yourself. You’re going to have to jump off the cliff sooner or later.”
DeMarcus added, “Give that boy a break.”
