Jelly Roll Inspires Country Fans With His Grammy-Nominated Song
As he took to the stage at the FireAid benefit concert, Jelly Roll poured his heart into singing his #1 country hit, “I Am Not Okay.”
Jelly Roll released “I Am Not Okay” in June 2024 as the lead single from his album Beautifully Broken. He co-wrote the track with Taylor Phillips, Ashley Gorley, and Casey Brown.
The song sheds light on mental health struggles and how it’s okay to admit if you’re not doing okay. But it contains a hopeful message, too, as Jelly Roll sings:
“But God knows, I know,
When it’s all said and done,
I’m not okay,
But it’s all gonna be alright.”

“I Am Not Okay” resonated with millions of listeners. The song reached the #1 spot on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and also crossed over to claim the 14th spot on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.
The song has also been nominated for two Grammy Awards: Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance. Jelly Roll will find out if he won those awards on Sunday, February 2.
Jelly Roll Sings “I Am Not Okay” To Open His Set At The FireAid Benefit Concert
The 2025 Grammy Awards are being held at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena. Celebrations surrounding the annual awards ceremony have been scaled back this year due to the wildfires that decimated the Los Angeles area.
Billboard reports this year’s Grammys will raise funds to support wildfire relief efforts. The program will also honor the first responders who jumped into action to serve their community. Billboard states that “a series of special performances” and “tributes to the spirit of Los Angeles” will highlight the show.
Ahead of the Grammys, dozens of music’s biggest stars gathered at the Kia Forum and the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, on January 30th for the FireAid benefit concert. No Doubt, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Sting were among the performers.
