Landman‘s Second Season Started On November 16th
Season 2 of Landman just premiered, but plans may already be in place for Season 3.
The highly anticipated second season of Landman kicked off on Paramount+ on November 16th. Although only two episodes have been released so far, the drama is already heating up.
We’ve also been introduced to a new character, T.L., played by Sam Elliott. Elliott previously worked with Landman creator Taylor Sheridan on the Yellowstone prequel series 1883.
81-year-old Elliott hadn’t been looking for work when Sheridan called about the part in Landman. Taylor told me, ‘Buddy, I’m not going without you,‘” he told USA TODAY. “It was the greatest gift.“

T.L. is the father of the show’s main character, Tommy Norris, played by Billy Bob Thornton. We’ve only seen glimpses of T.L. so far, but those glimpses have hinted at him being both a sad and complex character.
Sam Elliott Dishes Out Details About Landman Season 3
Elliott has been doing a lot of press for Landman since Season 2 premiered, and during one of those interviews, he shared what he knows about the plans for Season 3.
Turns out, he knows quite a bit!
During an interview with ExtraTV, Elliott shared how “excited” he is for what’s to come in Landman‘s third season. He told the outlet:
“I’m excited to see what unfolds in Season 3. I mean, we’re talking about Season 2, but that’s backstory for us at this point. We’re all kind of looking toward April and May when we start shooting Season 3.“
This aligns with the same schedule Landman followed for filming Season 2. Therefore, it seems safe to assume that if there is a third season, it may premiere around this time next year (November). Stay tuned, because we’ll let you know as soon as we have any confirmation about a premiere date.
In addition to sharing these details about Season 3, Elliott seemingly confirmed that his character, T.L., will survive the perilous world of Landman in Season 2. But there is always a chance we’ll lose T.L. before the end of Season 2, and he’ll be featured in flashbacks in Season 3. Guess we’ll have to wait and see what his fate will be…
You can watch Elliott’s full interview with ExtraTV in the video below. He was joined by his good friend and the lead of Landman, Billy Bob Thornton.
New episodes of Landman are released every Sunday on Paramount+.
