Scotty McCreery and his wife, Gabi, welcomed their first child on October 24. They welcomed a baby boy, and named him Merrick “Avery” McCreery.
The name Merrick is in honor of Gabi’s father, who shares the same first name but goes by “Tre.” Likewise, Scotty and Gabi’s son will go by his middle name, “Avery.”

Scotty and Gabi have shared several photos of their son over the past few months. One of the cutest pictures shows Scotty reading a golf book to Avery…who was all smiles.

More recently, Scotty posted some new photos of Avery on Facebook. He shared the pictures in honor of Avery turning five months old.
The pictures show Avery in his crib next to a letterboard that reads “5 Months Old.” He smiled for the camera while surrounded by his Winnie-the-Pooh themed stuffed animals.
One of the pictures even shows Avery standing up while holding onto the front of the crib.

While Gabi was still pregnant, she and Scotty filmed the music video for his song “It Matters to Her.” The video contains clips of them setting up Avery’s nursery and preparing for his arrival. Watch that video below.
