Singer Lands On Keith Urban’s “Voice” Team After Singing His Song

The Voice Australia / YouTube

Keith Urban is currently a coach on The Voice Australia. Blind auditions are underway, and several of the hopeful contestants have been big fans of Urban’s.

One singer, named Kaylee Bell, auditioned with an original song she wrote as an ode to Urban. Titled “Keith,” the tune mentions 13 of Urban’s songs in the lyrics.

All four coaches turned for Bell’s performance. One of the other coaches used their “block” on Urban so Bell couldn’t join his team.

But Urban did get the chance to welcome another one of his fans onto his Voice team!

17-year-old Freddie Bailey auditioned with a cover of one of Urban’s more recent hits, “Wild Hearts.” Urban released “Wild Hearts” in 2021 and it reached the tenth spot on the Country Airplay chart.

The song was an even bigger hit in Australia. It reached the number one spot on the Country Hot 50 chart there.

Urban’s reaction was priceless when he heard Bailey start singing “Wild Hearts.” He laughed in response, and started singing along.

He clearly approved of Bailey’s performance, because he turned his chair after just a few seconds. Jess Mauboy was the only other coach who turned for him, though the other coaches enjoyed his performance.

It was a no-brainer who Bailey would choose as his coach. He picked Urban, who happily welcomed him onto his team. “Welcome to Team Keith, Freddie !!!!” Urban wrote on social media when he shared the video of Bailey’s performance.

You can watch that video below. It must be a dream come true for Bailey to now be a member of Urban’s team!
