Out of the three main country music awards shows, the CMT Music Awards are the most casual. Because of the party-like vibe that surrounds the summertime awards in Nashville, artists tend to opt for more “fun” outfits as opposed to elegant ensembles.
But a few stars still decide to get dressed to the nines for the occasion. After all, how often are you able to get all dolled up for a special event?
The red carpet at the 2018 CMT Music Awards saw the perfect blend of spunky and dazzling looks. It was hard to narrow things down, but we’ve come up with our personal picks for the top 11 best-dressed stars of the night.

The “Keep Them Kisses Comin'” singer kept the good looks coming with his CMT Music Awards outfit. While the black shirt/black pants pairing wasn’t an unusual thing to see on the red carpet, Craig Campbell made his look unique by wearing a more casual shirt with a subtle polka dot design.
2. Kelly Clarkson
The reigning Voice champion coach looked radiant as ever while walking the CMT Music Awards red carpet. Kelly Clarkson opted for the more elegant approach, donning a flattering black gown with crystal accents and a long slit in the front.
3. Jon Pardi
The “Heartache on the Dance Floor” singer was looking like a heartache on the CMT Music Awards red carpet in his handsome ensemble. Jon Pardi‘s whole outfit was brought together by his dark purple jacket, and of course, his signature cowboy hat and belt buckle.
4. Mason Ramsey
The 11-year-old singer’s entire life has changed after a video of him yodeling to a Hank Williams song in Walmart went viral. His newfound fame earned Mason Ramsey a ticket to the CMT Music Awards, where he charmed everyone in his music note suit and big cowboy hat.
5. Lauren Alaina
Before she won the award for Collaborative Video of the Year with Kane Brown for “What Ifs,” Lauren Alaina won the CMT Music Awards red carpet. Her gorgeous dress from John Paul Ataker was complemented by the gold accents on her belt, shoes, and clutch, perfectly matching the “gold” aesthetic of the red carpet backdrop.
6. Karen Fairchild
Before she took off to tend to hosting duties with the rest of Little Big Town, Karen Fairchild was busy rocking the red carpet. As eye-catching as her metallic dress was, nothing was more dazzling than her tiny rhinestone clutch, which was shaped like a guitar!
7. Dustin Lynch
The “Small Town Boy” made a pretty big statement with the outfit he chose for the CMT Music Awards red carpet. While many stars opted for the jeans, t-shirt, and jacket approach, Dustin Lynch made himself stand out with his bright, mustard-colored jacket.
8. Luke Bryan
Luke Bryan is no stranger to awards show best-dressed lists, and looking at his CMT Music Awards outfit, it’s easy to see why. He was the definition of dashing in his suit and shirt set from Tom Ford, which he accented with a sleek watch from Richard Mille.
9. Kimberly Schlapman
