“The Voice” Announces Season 21 Mega Mentor

The Voice / Twitter

The week of October 4th serves as the very last week of the Blind Auditions for Season 21 of The Voice.

The next step of the process is the Battle rounds, where each of the artists will perform a duet with a singer from their own team. They will work with the coach and a guest mentor and after the performance, their coach will have to decide who continues on in the competition.

This year’s Battle Round Advisors are Camila Cabello (Team Legend), Jason Aldean (Team Kelly), Dierks Bentley (Team Blake), and Kristen Chenoweth (Team Ariana).

Following the Battle Rounds come the Knockout Round, which is quite similar except that the artists perform their songs solo. Again, they will be mentored by their coach and a special guest, this time it will be the same “Mega Mentor” for all four teams.

On October 4, The Voice‘s social media pages teased who the Mega Mentor would be by sharing four photos of them with each coach with emojis covering the mentor.

Some guesses on Twitter were Shania Twain, Post Malone, Adele, and Elton John, just to name a few. But, those guesses would all turn out to be wrong! The Voice revealed later in the day that this season’s Mega Mentor is….Ed Sheeran!

He joins the ranks of Mega Mentors of the past including Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Snoop Dogg.
