In April, Tim McGraw and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jon Meacham announced they would be releasing a book that “takes us on a journey through the history and the music that helped shape our nation,” titled Songs Of America.

The book hits shelves on June 11, but along with the release, the two are heading out on a book tour where they will give an intimate behind-the-scenes look at how they wrote the book. McGraw will also perform a few special songs from the book.

Below are the dates for the Songs of America Book Tour.

6/10 – New York, NY – Beacon Theatre

6/11 – Charleston, SC – Gaillard Center

6/12 – Washington, DC – The Anthem

6/21 – Waco, TX – Magnolia Market

6/22 – Atlanta, GA – Coca Cola Roxy

6/23 – Charlotte, NC – Belk Theatre

6/24 – Raleigh, NC – Raleigh Memorial Auditorium

Fans of both McGraw and Chip and Joanna Gaines were ecstatic to see the date at the former HGTV couple’s Waco, Texas Magnolia Market!

We’re so excited to have Tim McGraw & Jon Meacham at the Silos this summer!” the market wrote on their official Facebook page.

Well now, unexpectedly – and pretty silently – that Songs of America Book Tour date has reportedly been cancelled. According to KWTX, Magnolia officials confirmed the cancellation on Thursday (May 30).

“Magnolia officials said they were simply the hosting venue and could confirm the cancellation, but couldn’t speak on behalf of the McGraw team as to the reason for it,’ they wrote.

KWTX also reports that a full refund will be available to people who bought tickets via the site EventBrite, though Waco Tribune-Herald says the refund procedure is unknown because tickets through EventBrite also included a copy of the book.

McGraw hasn’t commented on the cancellation.
