Singing in front of a crowd can be scary, but for one little tyke, it comes as natural as breathing. With his adorable voice and excited attitude, 3-year-old Drake Grillo wowed the crowd as he belted out the National Anthem at Syracuse’s annual School Day Game.
Annual School Day
At Syracuse University in New York, Annual School Day is no joke. For 2018’s special day, the women’s basketball team invited Niagara University to their court and offered free admission to students from 2nd to 8th grade.

So when they needed someone to sing the national anthem before the game, they knew just the guy. Drake Grillo made headlines in July 2018 when he sang before a local baseball game. He learned the song because he loves sports and picked up on the lyrics just from watching.
What makes his Syracuse debut special is that Drake is now the youngest National Anthem singer the Carrier Dome has ever seen. Built in 1980, the stadium is home to several of Syracuse’s teams and has seen its fair share of singers – but none quite like Drake.
