The Jennings family just added a new member to their family tree!

Waylon Jennings had six children, the oldest of which was his son, Terry (who passed away in 2019). The two shared a close relationship, because Waylon was only 19 years older than Terry. Terry said they had “more of a brother-brother relationship” than that of a father and son.

Terry dropped out of school at the age of 15 to travel with Waylon. After Waylon passed away in 2002, Terry shared his memories of him in his 2017 book Waylon: Tales of My Outlaw Dad.

Terry grew up and went on to have kids of his own. His son, Whey, followed in Waylon’s musical footsteps and became a singer as well.

Whey is known for looking and sounding a lot like his legendary grandfather. He often sings Waylon’s songs in an effort to help keep his legacy alive.

He has also performed with his step-grandmother, Jessi Colter.

Now, Whey has a little one who may one day continue the Jennings family’s musical traditions. Taking to Facebook, he happily announced that he and his wife, Taryn, welcomed a baby girl on February 24, 2021.

He shared a photo of his newborn daughter, which shows her wrapped up in a blanket with a white bow on her head. Whey also revealed his baby girl’s name: Katherine Aryah Jennings.

We would like to announce the arrival of Miss Katherine Aryah Jennings born on 2/24 weighing 8lbs 7oz 21inches long,” Whey wrote in the caption.

Whey took to the comments to thank his followers for their congratulatory messages, saying, “Thank y’all so much.”

Who knows, maybe one day little Katherine will become a singer like her daddy and great-grandpa!
