The Glenlivet is describing it as “glassless cocktails” that are served in a capsule made from one of nature’s most renewable resources, seaweed-extract. You simply pop the whole biodegradable capsule in your mouth, bite down and it bursts like a flavor-filled gusher shot of whiskey.

A Brand New Way To Consume Alcohol
The Glenlivet first partnered with Notpla to make the seaweed capsules and then partnered with the London bar Tayēr + Elementary to showcase them. With three different types of cocktails, Citrus, Wood, and Spice their collective goal is to craft a brand new way for people to consume alcoholic beverages.
“We want to create original solutions for how to serve and consume drinks, and The Glenlivet is a brand that is looking to do just the same,” Co-founder Rodrigo Garcia Gonzalez of Notpla stated.
Unfortunately, because the capsules are so new they have not been approved in the United States yet. The only way to get your taste buds on one of these is to travel to England and stop by the Tayēr where they are being served until October 13th.
