Zac Brown, lead singer of The Zac Brown Band, filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife Friday (May 17).
Zac Brown is reportedly seeking a restraining order against his estranged wife, Kelly Yazdi, over an Instagram post she made earlier this month.
Brown, who was only married to Yadzi for four months, claims that his ex-wife’s social media post violated a confidentiality agreement. The “Chicken Fried” singer has requested an emergency temporary restraining order that would force Yadzi to remove the post.
Court documents filed in Georgia state that Brown is also requesting that the court stop Yazdi from “making any defamatory, false, untrue, or otherwise damaging statements” his band, his family and about him.
“I took the steps necessary to enforce an agreement between us to maintain personal and business affairs in confidence and to protect my family from online harassment and speculation,” Brown said of the lawsuit in a statement, adding that his “only hope is for us to keep private matters private and to move forward with the mutual respect we had agreed to show one another when we parted ways.”
