Emma Hewitt may just be a little girl, but she’s got a big voice and a huge passion for country music. The latter might be thanks to her dad, musician Trevor Hewitt. Trevor is the frontman of the Trevor Hewitt Band, who tour regularly and are releasing a six-song EP titled It Is What It Is on January 1.
Together, Trevor and Emma make up an adorable daddy-daughter duo who clearly enjoy singing together. In a recent video posted to Trevor’s band’s Facebook page on Wednesday (Dec. 20), they stood in front of their festive Christmas tree to perform something for their fans. Emma and Trevor introduced the song they were going to sing, which was Tanya Tucker’s debut hit “Delta Dawn.”
Trevor played electric guitar and sang harmonies, but it was Emma who shined bright as the song’s lead singer. She nailed every lyric and belted out the high notes like a pro. If you take a look at Trevor’s video archives, you will see that he and Emma have been singing duets for quite some time now, but this one is by far their best yet!
“Delta Dawn” was a Top Ten hit for Tucker in 1972, but was covered by Helen Reddy, Waylon Jennings, Bette Midler, and more in the coming years.
