Before “Idol” Win, Chayce Beckham Sings Chris Stapleton’s “Fire Away”

On Sunday night (May 23), Chayce Beckham was crowned the champion of American Idol, but before he won, he had to perform a few more times.

And a few other collaborations. But to us, his standout performance of the night was his take on Chris Stapleton’s powerful hit song “Fire Away.”

Beckham’s natural gritty voice was perfect for Stapleton’s song which he released on his 2015 album Traveller. While the song only peaked at number 26 on the Billboard country chart, it has been certified 2x Platinum!

Judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie gave him a standing ovation after his performance, saying “Your world is about to change!”
