The Working Title Of The Beth & Rip Yellowstone Spin-Off Has Finally Been Confirmed

After some discrepancy, the working title of the new Yellowstone spin-off centered on Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler has been confirmed.

Not long after Yellowstone ended in December, Paramount revealed its plans to produce several spin-off series and connected shows. One of those shows, titled Y: Marshals, will follow Kayce Dutton on his new journey as a member of an elite unit of U.S. Marshals. That series is slated for an early 2026 premiere on CBS.

Another spin-off will focus on Kayce’s sister, Beth, and her husband, Rip Wheeler. In the early days, this project was being called Dutton Ranch online. But in May, actor Cole Hauser (who plays Rip), said that wasn’t the show’s title.

Finn Little, the actor who played Beth and Rip’s “adopted son,” Carter, eventually joined the cast of the new spin-off.

Shortly after that casting news, Paramount held its Q2 earnings call. During the call, they referred to the Beth and Rip series as The Dutton Ranch.

Paramount also revealed that the series had been delayed. Originally poised for a late 2025 release, the show will now premiere in 2026.

Finally, on August 25, Deadline confirmed that the Beth and Rip series now has a working title, and it is The Dutton Ranch.

The Dutton Ranch, home to Beth Dutton (Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Hauser), is a testament to the peace they sought, fought for, and nearly died for, as they’ve come to cherish their 7,000-acre ranch,” Deadline writes. “With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter (Little) becomes the man he’s supposed to be.

As a working title, there’s always a chance that The Dutton Ranch may not be the name of the show in the end. But for now, it is!

Meet Annette Bening, The Golden Globe Winner Who’s Joining The Cast Of The Dutton Ranch

In addition to revealing the show’s working title, Deadline also reported that Golden Globe Award-winning actress Annette Bening has joined the cast of the new Yellowstone series.

Bening will play a new character named Beulah Jackson. Deadline describes her as “the powerful, cunning and charming head of a major ranch in Texas.”

Bening is a highly esteemed performer known for her roles in The Grifters, American Beauty, Being Julia, Mrs. Harris, and The Kids Are Alright. She’s been nominated for Oscar, Tony, and Emmy awards, and has won a BAFTA Award and two Golden Globe Awards. She earned her Golden Globes for her roles in Being Julia and The Kids Are Alright.

Bening is also working on The Bride, an upcoming monster movie produced by Maggie Gyllenhaal. The film is aiming for a 2026 release.
