Bindi, the eldest child of famed TV personalities and conservationists Steve and Terri Irwin, is following in her parents’ footsteps by sharing her passion for wildlife. While she has been on TV since she was a child, the world got to know her even more when she participated on (and won!) the 21st season of Dancing with the Stars.
During her time on the show, Bindi danced an emotional routine that she dedicated to her father. A video showcasing that dance now has well over six million views.
After her time on DWTS, Bindi returned to her home in Australia, where she, her mother, and her younger brother Robert have continued Steve’s legacy at the Australia Zoo.
While working there, another person has been by the trio’s side…Bindi’s longtime love Chandler Powell.
The couple first met six years ago at the Australia Zoo, and have been inseparable ever since.

So when Bindi celebrated her 21st birthday on Wednesday (July 24), Chandler surprised her with a gift she’s sure to treasure forever!
As Chandler detailed on social media, he surprised Bindi by taking her to her favorite place in the zoo, and that’s where he asked her to marry him.
“Proposing in her very favorite place in the zoo, surrounded by animals, seemed like the perfect way to embark on this incredible new chapter in our lives,” he wrote.

Bindi also gushed about the proposal on her own Instagram, writing, “On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life.”
The birthday girl also shared two photos, one which wonderfully showcases the beauty of her ring, which features an oval-shaped center stone. The other picture is a happy snapshot of the newly engaged couple.

Bindi made it clear that she’s anxious to marry Chandler sooner rather than later, writing, “Now let’s get married already!” We already can’t wait to see photos from their wedding day, because we know Bindi will be a beautiful bride.
