Blake Shelton Left The Voice After Serving As A Coach For 23 Seasons

Fans of The Voice certainly miss seeing Blake Shelton on the show. The “Texas” singer was one of the original coaches and served as a coach for 23 seasons.

Shelton coached nine contestants to victory. Some of his past winners include Cassadee Pope, Danielle Bradbery, Sundance Head, and Bryce Leatherwood.

To this day, Shelton holds the record for the most wins in Voice history.

Shelton even has The Voice to thank for introducing him to his now-wife, Gwen Stefani. The singers met and fell in love on the show, and married in 2021.

A desire to spend more time at home with Stefani and her three sons motivated Shelton to say “goodbye” to The Voice. The show celebrated him with an emotional send-off at the end of Season 23.

How Blake Feels About The Voice After Leaving The Show

Now, over a year after leaving The Voice…does Shelton miss it?

Not yet. I’m sure I will someday,” he admitted during a recent conversation with Taste of Country Nights. “It’s only been like a year and a half or so for me, I need more of a break.

He added, “You know, I miss the people. I mean the crew, the producers, the band there. They’ve become family. But the job itself…I don’t miss that yet.

Shelton doesn’t want Voice fans to get it twisted. He’s incredibly grateful for his time on the show. “I don’t want that to sound like I’m bitter about that or anything. The show changed my life.

Plus, he isn’t leaving the singing competition world behind. It was recently announced that he will serve as a co-executive producer with Yellowstone‘s Taylor Sheridan on a new singing competition show, The Road.

But for now, Shelton says he’s “enjoying this being a country singer thing for a minute.” He just released his latest single, “Texas,” on November 15. The song helped him break a personal record, as it earned the most first-week radio adds of his entire career.

Shelton later stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform the song live for the first time. Watch that performance below.
