On Thursday, February 27, the ACM unveiled the list of nominees for its 2020 awards ceremony. Thomas Rhett and Maren Morris were the artists who earned the most nominations, with a total of five each.
Right behind them was Blake Shelton, who racked up a total of four nominations. He was nominated in the following categories: Single of the Year, Song of the Year, Video of the Year, and Music Event of the Year.
Three of the four nominations are for his Grammy-nominated single “God’s Country,” which also won the CMA Award for Single of the Year.
The fourth nomination, for Music Event of the Year, is for Shelton’s collaboration with Garth Brooks on the song “Dive Bar.”
After the list of nominees went public, Shelton took to social media to share how grateful he was.
“WOW Y’ALL! 4 @acmawards nominations?” Shelton wrote in a post on Instagram. “What an honor!“

Shelton wasn’t the only person who celebrated his four ACM nominations. His girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, also spoke about the nominations after the list was revealed.
“This is my boyfriend!!??” Stefani wrote alongside a moving image that showcases Shelton’s ACM nominations. “@blakeshelton congrats on your continued greatnes [sic]!”
She also included the hashtag “#proud,” making it clear she’s over-the-moon excited for Shelton!

Come next year, Stefani may find herself among the list of ACM nominees. She and Shelton have a new duet, titled “Nobody But You,” and it’s one of the biggest songs in country music right now.
As of press time, the song has yet to hit #1 on the country radio charts, but it was the #1 country song on iTunes for quite some time. Check out the couple’s PDA-filled music video for it below.
A huge congratulations to Shelton on his ACM nominations! “God’s Country” and “Dive Bar” are both great songs, and are worthy of the recognition.
