Now, he’ll be able to spend more time at home with his wife, Gwen Stefani, and her three sons. Even though he won’t be spending as much time in LA, Shelton is going to leave a permanent mark on the city…because he’s receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez shared a statement about why Shelton was chosen to receive a star. Martinez said:
“Blake Shelton is one of the music and television world’s most popular entertainers. He keeps ‘The Voice’ audiences in stitches with his witty banter and he has captured many fans’ hearts with his soulful country voice. To think that he began his career at the age of 17 is amazing. We are proud to have him join the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
Shelton will receive his star on Friday, May 12 at 11:30 AM PT. Those who want to watch the ceremony can tune in at walkoffame.com. Stefani and Voice host Carson Daly will speak during the ceremony.
Blake Follows Other Country “Stars”
Shelton is just the latest country artist to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. If you stroll down the Walk, you’ll see stars for other country singers such as Clint Black, Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood, Brooks & Dunn, Patsy Cline, and Johnny Cash, among others.
He will also join his good buddy and former Voice coach Adam Levine, who earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017. Shelton spoke during the ceremony. Watch some highlights from that event below.
We can’t wait for Shelton to have his own star on the Walk of Fame!
