Mike Sanchez and Prestyn Cirilo, two fishing brothers from the 361 Most Hated Fishing Team, caught a record-breaking alligator gar at Choke Canyon Reservoir!
The monstrous alligator gar measured in at a whopping 8 feet and 1 inch, making it a record for Choke Canyon and quite possibly the state of Texas!
These two fishing fanatics had been fishing all day and night when they finally got the bite they were waiting for around 4:30 a.m. Mike knew it was going to be a big one, but he never could have imagined just how big.
When he finally reeled in the beast, his brother Prestyn lassoed the gar to bring it to shore, and they couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw just how massive it was!
The excitement in their voices was palpable when they described the moment, “Once I got it in the water and he got it closer, and once I saw how big it was, I was like ‘Man, this thing’s huge!’,” said Prestyn, according to Kris TV.
And Mike couldn’t contain his excitement either, “Once I felt it, I knew it was something big, but I couldn’t have ever imagined it was that big. It was unreal at the moment.”
This record-breaking catch is a testament to the dedication and passion these two brothers have for fishing. They’ve been at it for their entire lives and plan to keep going, always striving to beat their own records.
These guys are clearly serious about fishing having started so early in the morning, going all day and into the next. But it was all worth it in the end for this incredible catch.
So, if you’re a fishing fan like us, you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on Mike and Prestyn. Who knows what record they’ll break next!
