Fans were delighted when the country superstar started strumming the first few cords of this iconic melody in Cape Coral, Florida. Blake Shelton gave “Escape (The Pina Colada Song)” a much-needed country revamp to the 1970s classic.

Drink in hand, Blake announces to the crowd that he’s going to try and get through this song, and takes a swig from his cup while fans excitedly hoot and holler as the opening sequence commences.

The crowd sings along with him to the famous chorus inside the intimate venue with the always show-stopping Shelton.

The song was originally released back in 1979 by British singer-songwriter Rupert Holmes when it closed out the 70s as the final No. 1 song on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. Blake gives a fun countryfied twist to this classic pop song of the past.
