Gwen Stefani celebrated her 47th birthday in a huge way on Monday (October 3). Her new animated series, called Kuu Kuu Harajuku, made its debut on Nickelodeon. Stefani created the show, which was inspired by her “Harajuku Lovers” brand, and she also serves as the executive producer.
The show follows five Harajuku girls named Love, Angel, Music, Baby, and G, who all form a band and also fight crime in their spare time. Stefani has been looking forward to the show’s debut for ages, telling People she loves that it, “is an animated series for young girls that celebrates creativity, imagination and individuality.”
Knowing that her birthday was a big day for two reasons instead of one, Stefani’s boyfriend Blake Shelton wrote her a loving message on Twitter. He not only made sure to wish her a happy birthday, but to congratulate her on the debut of her television show as well.
Happy Birthday @gwenstefani and congrats on the debut of @KuuKuuHarajuku!!!!

We’d say that Stefani had a pretty good birthday, wouldn’t you?
In addition to preparing for the release of her animated series, Stefani has been on tour all summer and Shelton is currently on tour as well. Every now and then, Stefani stops by to surprise Shelton’s fans at his concerts, and the two of them end up singing their duet “Go Ahead and Break My Heart.” You can watch one of their recent performances below.
