When Leslie Jordan unexpectedly passed away on Monday (October 24) at the age of 67, he left behind tons of people who loved him. As an actor, he made friendships with those he starred alongside in series such as Will & Grace, American Horror Story, and Hearts Afire.

Jordan was also close to many members of the country music community. He released a country album in 2021, and several of his country singing friends worked with him on the record.

At the time of his death, Jordan was starring as the character Phil on the FOX series Call Me Kat. He was with the show from the beginning.

Following Jordan’s death, the crew behind Call Me Kat announced a pause in production on the show’s third season. Deadline reports that an episode scheduled for Thursday (October 27) called “Call Me Uncle Dad” will air as scheduled, and will include a tribute to Jordan.

Actress and Jeopardy! host Mayim Bialik plays the lead in Call Me Kat. She, the rest of the show’s cast, and the producers shared a joint statement with Deadline about Jordan’s passing. It reads:

There aren’t words to convey the loss we are experiencing as a cast and a Call Me Kat family. Leslie Jordan was larger than life. He was a Southern gentleman; tender, wise, naughty and hilarious. We got to know and love him at the height of his happiness and joy and it is inconceivable to imagine a world without our Leslie: the man who would spit on his contact lenses before putting them in his eyes, the man who had a story about every man in Hollywood and some of the women as well, the man who lived to make people laugh. We will be taking time to grieve and to celebrate the many gifts Leslie gave to us and to the entire world and we appreciate privacy at this time.

Bialik posted the same statement on social media, along with a few photos of Jordan. She shared some additional words in the caption, saying:

They broke the mold when they made Leslie Jordan. He was a dear mentor and a beloved friend. I will miss him so much – it’s unimaginable that he’s gone. Rest well, sweet buddy.

Our hearts go out to the cast and crew of Call Me Kat and to all who loved Jordan. May he rest in peace…
