Days after hosting the CMA Awards in November, Carrie Underwood suffered a nasty fall at her Nashville home. The fall left Underwood with an injured wrist, which required surgery. As she revealed in an end of the year letter to her fan club, she also had to get 40-50 stitches in her face.

In the letter, Carrie informed her fans that the next time they see her full face, she may look a little different.

When I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different,” she wrote. “I’m hoping that, by then, the differences are minimal, but, again, I just don’t know how it’s all going to end up.”

Since then, Carrie has shied from sharing any photos of her full face on social media. Any time she does post a current photo, she covers part of her face in some way, either by turning her head or placing something over it.

There is at least one known photo out there that shows Carrie’s face post-fall. This photo was shared by reality star Adrienne Gang, who met Carrie at the gym one day.

Other than that one trip to the gym, Carrie has kept a pretty low profile. But recently, she finally made one of her first publics appearances since her fall…and for an extremely important event.

For quite some time now, Carrie has been good friends with Zach and Colton Swon, who make up the country music duo the Swon Brothers. The brothers competed together on The Voice, where Colton met another contestant named Caroline Glasier. The two fell in love, and eventually married on Saturday (March 17).

As Colton’s friend and former tourmate (the Swon Brothers were openers for her Storyteller tour), Carrie went to the wedding to celebrate with him and Caroline. While there are no photos of Carrie at the wedding, The Tennessean confirms that she was in attendance.

According to the publication, Carrie tried not to draw much attention to herself, writing, that she “sat discreetly in the back of the room.”

The greater public may finally get the chance to see Carrie for the first time in a while if she attends the ACM Awards in April. She is nominated for two awards: Female Vocalist of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year for her collaboration on “The Fighter” with Keith Urban.

If Carrie doesn’t attend the ACM Awards, then her only known appearance for the year is scheduled to take place on August 2, when she’ll perform at WE Fest in Michigan.

Until then, we hope y’all will enjoy watching Carrie’s newest music video for her empowering anthem “The Champion!”
