Carrie Underwood Makes Surprise Appearance To Sing National Anthem

Now that Carrie Underwood is back after a nearly five month hiatus, we just can’t get enough! Thankfully, she’s come back in a big way with new music, new concert dates and now an incredible national anthem performance.

Two weeks ago, Carrie Underwood returned to the stage roughly five months after a horrific fall outside of her Nashville area home left her with a broken wrist and more than 40 stitches in her face. Her comeback performance took place during the 2018 ACM Awards when she debuted her new single and title track of her upcoming album, “Cry Pretty.”

Sunday night, Underwood performed once again, but on a very different stage. Before Game 2 of the Nashville Predators’ second round Stanley Cup Playoff series against Winnipeg, Carrie surprised the crowd by taking to the ice to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The crowd erupted when the “Jesus, Take The Wheel” singer began to sing, her vocals delivering an absolutely flawless rendition of the song.

Underwood, the wife of Preds player Mike Fisher, was the first celebrity to perform the National Anthem prior to a Preds home game last season when the team hosted their first home playoff game. This season, Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley, Maren Morris and Dierks Bentley have all had the honor.
