Cody Johnson Prepares To Release Romantic New Single, “The Painter”
Cody Johnson is gearing up to release a new album later this year, Leather.
One of those tracks is called “The Painter.” It’s the first single Cody plans to release from the project.
Cody shared the news about “The Painter” in a recent interview with iHeart Radio’s Spencer Graves. He told him, “So August 14th, we have a new single going to radio, it’s called ‘The Painter.'”

Cody Dances With Wife Brandi Johnson In Sweet Video Teasing His New Single “The Painter”
Fans got the chance to hear a sample of “The Painter” in a teaser video Cody shared on social media. The romantic clip shows him dancing outside with his beautiful wife, Brandi.
Cody and Brandi have been married for several years and share two daughters. Cody previously gushed about his wife in an interview with New Country 96.3, saying:
“When I met her, I was a pretty crazy young guy and she’s helped me grow. She’s helped me become a man that I’m proud to be, and she holds down the house, and she holds down the whole fort.”
You can see the couple’s love for each other in the teaser video Cody shared for “The Painter.” The clip starts in black and white before it shifts into color…which falls in line with the song’s lyrics.
As you can hear Cody sing in the sample, “She took chances. With every wall I built she saw a canvas. I thank God every day for how he made her. My life was black and white but she’s the painter.”
