Cody Johnson has postponed his final two September tour dates after coming down with an undisclosed illness.
Cody Johnson is currently on his Leather Tour with various special guests. As of August 1, several shows were already completely sold out!
On the morning of Thursday, September 19, Johnson revealed that he would be postponing two sold-out shows due to illness.
“Due to illness over the past several days, which has unfortunately resulted in a loss of voice, Cody Johnson’s shows in Charlotte and Charleston this weekend will be postponed,” a graphic posted to his social media read. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Stay tuned for more information and reschedule dates.”
He mentioned in the caption that he is “down about” the situation.
The two shows affected are the September 20th show in Charlotte, North Carolina and the September 21st show in Charleston, South Carolina, both of which were sold out.
The “‘Til You Cant” singer’s next tour date is not until October 11th, so he has more time to rest up and recover.
This news comes just days after Johnson announced a new duet with Carrie Underwood.
Titled, “I’m Gonna Love You,” the duet will be released on September 27.
“Thrilled to announce that “I’m Gonna Love You” is coming out next Friday, 9/27. Thank you [Carrie Underwood] for joining me on this one and making it so special. Can’t wait for y’all to hear it,” Johnson wrote in the announcement on Tuesday (Sep. 17).
