Some congratulations are in order for Waterloo Revival’s George Birge!
Birge took to Facebook late Sunday night (January 16) to share a big announcement with his fans. He’s now a father! Birge and his wife, Kara, welcomed their first child together, a bouncing baby boy.
“We started our little family today,” Birge wrote. Their son, named George James Birge, made his debut in a sweet snapshot that Birge shared along with the announcement of his birth.
We think baby George is adorable, and clearly his parents feel the same. Those smiles say it all!
The couple announced they were expecting in August 2016. Birge made it clear in his announcement how excited he was to become a father. He also shared how excited he was to see his lovely wife become a mother. “This kid is gonna have the best mom in the world!” he wrote.
We can tell that baby George is going to be showered with lots of love and affection! With a country music singer as a father, he’ll also have no shortage of high-quality lullabies to listen to.
Birge and his friend Cody Cooper grew up playing music together throughout their school years. After graduation, the two ended up traveling down different paths in life until they eventually reunited in 2013. That’s when they decided to form Waterloo Revival, and they released their debut EP in March of that same year.
Since then, Waterloo Revival has found their way on the charts with singles such as “Hit the Road” and “Bad for You.” Due to the success of those two singles, Waterloo Revival has quickly established themselves as an up-and-coming duo in country music.
Wanting to be closer to all of the action, Birge and Cooper recently moved from their home town of Austin, Texas to be in Nashville. It looks like Nashville will be the place that little baby George will grow up, and will also be the place that Cooper starts his own family.
On December 15, Cooper announced that he had proposed to his girlfriend Emily Johnson while on vacation in Cancun, Mexico. “Feliz Navidad from the future Mr. & Mrs. Cooper,” he wrote.

Just three days prior to Cooper’s engagement announcement, Waterloo Revival dropped a new music video for their song “Backwood Bump.” The video has since generated thousands of views, and it’s no wonder why. Tune in below to check it out.
Once again, congratulations to Birge and his wife on their adorable new addition!
