On this day in 2001, 2,977 Americans lost their lives as a result of unthinkable terrorist attacks

September 11th marks Patriot Day, a day designated to honor and remember the victims of the terrorist attacks that rocked our nation in 2001. While civilians fled the scene, first responders ran towards the wreckage, many losing their lives in the process. In the aftermath, thousands of soldiers marched bravely into battle to defend our country.

Each year, the anniversary serves as a reminder of our shared humanity as Americans and the freedoms we should never take for granted.

Many country artists responded to the tragedy in the way they knew best – by song. Music became a way for Americans to unite and heal as they processed the heartbreaking events of that day.
